Townsend Veterinary Practice was established over 25 years ago and has gone from strength to strength. We have a strong local reputation and, in addition to giving the best veterinary care that we can, we also pride ourselves on getting involved in the local community. We work in partnership with the local Blue Cross, treating hundreds of pets each year at reduced cost and with a local wildlife rescue centre that bring us dozens of hedgehogs, often for life-saving surgery, before they are returned to the wild. We also undertake work subsidised by the RSPCA and Cats Protection League and support charity fund raisers when we can. Our Christmas Fayre raised hundreds of pounds for Medical Detection Dogs and our summer baking contest raised money for the Blue Cross.
We are proud to be part of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. This means that we are independently inspected and certified as reaching strict industry standards. We are also a training practice for student veterinary nurses and we support local school children with our popular work experience programme.
We have a dedicated team of fantastic staff. We vary in age and experience but we all get the buzz from meeting new pets (and their owners of course). Between us we own 23 dogs, 22 cats, nine rabbits and two guinea pigs and we understand how worrying it can be when your pet is unwell. We firmly believe in the importance of routine preventative healthcare.
Spread over three sites we have an excellent standard of equipment to help us when your pet is ill. At our large Bromsgrove clinic we have an operating theatre, separate dental suite with digital dental X-ray, on-site laboratory, flexible endoscopes, multi-probe ultrasonography, digital X-ray, tonometry, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, fluid infusion and blood transfusion equipment.
The practice became part of CVS (UK) Ltd in 2015 which gives us links to a much larger group of practices and care providers; there is always an expert on hand to share their skills and knowledge when needed.
